Featured Artists

Guy Louie III

Guy Louie III grew up connected to his territory and his culture. That connection lives in everything he makes.

Working from Ahaudhat territory on Vancouver Island, Guy carves paddles, bentwood boxes, masks, round panels, and totems — each one built with patience, skill, and deep respect for the traditions behind it. No two pieces are the same. Each one is made with care from start to finish.

Based out of Archer Community Hub, Guy brings that same care to his mentorship work — sitting with youth, teaching technique, and sharing the stories and meaning that belong alongside the skills.

Outside of the carving shed, he’s a singer and drummer in Victoria. Creativity isn’t a part of his life — it is his life.

Mission

“To create meaningful Indigenous carvings while preserving culture through hands-on teaching and mentorship.”

Vision

“To pass knowledge forward and build strong connections between art, identity, and community.”

Eye of Alboni

"Wood carved by hand. Knowledge passed forward. Culture kept alive."

Guy Louie III is an Indigenous carver, mentor, and musician working from Ahaudhat territory on Vancouver Island. Based here at Archer Community Hub, Guy creates paddles, masks, bentwood boxes, round panels, and totems — each one shaped with deep respect for the traditions behind it. His work isn’t only about the pieces made; it’s about the knowledge passed on to the young people he mentors alongside every carving.
