Recognized for his commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive community through creativity, unity, and opportunity.
VICTORIA, B.C. — Archer’s Community Hub is proud to share that founder Johnathan “JonnyG” Thompson has been nominated for the Community Changemaker Award through the DIVERSEcity Awards of Impact.
The award recognizes established leaders who go above and beyond to create positive change and improve the lives of others, especially those who are underserved.
For Jonny, this nomination is not just about personal recognition. It reflects the work of an entire community of volunteers, artists, mentors, partners, and supporters who have helped turn Archer’s Community Hub into a place where people feel welcome, supported, and inspired.
A Vision Built on Belonging
Archer’s Community Hub is a welcoming space where art, music, culture, education, and community come together. Whether you’re here to create, learn, perform, connect, or simply be part of something bigger, there’s a place for you here.
A community where people are not defined by income, background, culture, age, ability, identity, or past experiences. Instead, they are welcomed for who they are and encouraged to discover who they can become.
Jonny’s passion for community comes from lived experience. Growing up and overcoming significant challenges throughout his early life, Jonny understands what it feels like to lack opportunity, support, and belonging. His journey is proof that people can change, communities can heal, and lives can be transformed when someone believes in you..
More Than Music
While music remains at the heart of JayzWayz Productions, Archer’s Community Hub has grown into something much bigger.
Today, the artist run together musicians, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, youth, nonprofits, community groups, and local leaders through creative spaces, workshops, mentorship, events, and affordable access to professional resources.
The Hub includes recording studios, creative workspaces, podcast and media production spaces, meeting areas, educational programming, and a community art space that supports local artists.
Creating Opportunities Through Art
Archer’s Community Hub proudly supports visual artists alongside musicians and creators.
The community art space gives local artists an opportunity to display their work, connect with the public, and gain exposure in a welcoming environment. For many emerging artists, this kind of opportunity can help build confidence, visibility, and connection.
By celebrating local creativity, the Hub helps strengthen a more connected arts community.
This is a safe, creative space built for everyone
At Archer’s Community Hub, we welcome people from all backgrounds, identities, cultures, and experience levels. Whether you’re a young artist discovering your passion, an emerging musician, a visual artist, an Indigenous creative, a member of the BIPOC or 2SLGBTQIA+ community, a neurodivergent creator, or simply someone looking for a place to connect,
A place where everyone is encouraged to learn, collaborate, express themselves, and grow in an environment built on inclusion, belonging, and mutual support.
Investing in the Next Generation
One of Jonny’s greatest passions is mentorship.
Inspired by his own life journey, he created Jonny’s Lil G’s, a mentorship initiative focused on helping young people discover their potential through creativity, positive role models, life skills, and meaningful community connections.
The goal is simple: give young people encouragement, guidance, and opportunities to believe in themselves and make positive choices for their future.
Together, we’re building a community where everyone belongs.
This nomination is an incredible honour, but it represents far more than one person. It reflects the dedication of every volunteer, artist, instructor, community partner, supporter, and visitor who has helped make Archer’s Community Hub a place where people feel welcomed, encouraged, and inspired.
Together, we’ve created more than a creative space—we’ve built a community founded on inclusion, opportunity, and belonging. While this recognition celebrates Jonny’s leadership, it also celebrates everyone who has helped bring this vision to life.
