Official Launch of Creative Courses at Archer Community Hub
Featuring Emotionz • Presented by JayzWayz Productions
Saturday, Emotionz leads four hands-on workshops covering four different elements of Hip Hop culture. These are interactive, beginner-friendly, and designed for anyone who wants to learn directly from someone who has lived it.
The Art of Rap
Learn the foundations of freestyle, flow, songwriting, rhyme structure, performance confidence, and the history behind Hip Hop. Whether you’ve never written a bar or you’ve been at it for years, this one is for you.
Intro to Graffiti
Dive into the world of graffiti lettering, tag creation, style development, and the culture behind the art form. Everyone leaves with their own original tag and the knowledge to keep going.
Beatbox 101
Make music with nothing but your voice. Learn the fundamentals of rhythm, vocal percussion, timing, and beatboxing technique in a fun and welcoming environment. No experience needed.
Artist Development
For musicians and creators ready to level up. Emotionz breaks down how to build your brand, grow independently, network in the industry, find grants and funding, and think creatively about your career on your own terms.
Emotionz (Dave Nelson) is a Canadian rapper, beatboxer, DJ, graffiti artist, educator, and globe explorer who has spent years performing, touring, recording, and teaching across the country and around the world. He currently teaches at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music in Vancouver, where he works directly with youth through music, performance, and creative development.
His workshops are practical, hands-on, and built around real experience. You’re not sitting through a lecture — you’re creating, experimenting, and learning from someone who has built a career doing exactly what he teaches.
This weekend also marks the official launch of our courses at Archer’s Community Hub, presented by JayzWayz Productions.
Our goal is simply to bring industry experts to the Hub to teach, mentor, and connect directly with the community. From music and songwriting to Hip Hop, media, and creative development, these programs are built to make the arts more accessible here in Victoria.
We couldn’t have asked for a better person to kick things off.
Come for Friday night. Come for Saturday. Come for both. Either way we’ll see you at Archer’s Community Hub.
